Be careful with Google Checkout.
On 11/26, I ordered a camera from RitzCamera.com via Google Checkout to get an extra $20 off of it. I then ordered a HP photo printer from the same site using Google Checkout to get another $20 off than order. By buying the printer and camera I would get a rebate for $100 off the printer so the whole package would cost me $47 for the two items.
Great deal, right? NOT IF IT GETS SCREWED UP!
I received my printer a week later. When the camera didn’t show I contacted Ritz and they said my 2nd printer was on order. ‘2nd printer’? When I corrected them that it should a Fujifilm A400 digital camera they said Google Checkout screwed up my order and had sent incorrect order information to them. To add to the confusion the customer service rep (I could not pin down the accent but I suspect Ritz uses out of the country support help) said Ritz is out of that camera and no longer carry it BUT I would get the camera because I ordered it (how did they know that if they said Google Checkout sent them the wrong info??? Hmmm…..)!!
To this date I have not heard back from Ritz and Google Checkout has proven to be zero help. If I don’t get the camera I have no need for the printer (I was buying this as a December birthday [camera] and Xmas Day [printer] gift for my 12 yea old daughter- without the cam, I can’t get the rebate BUT I would have to ship the printer back MY COST despite this not being my fault!!!).
Buyer beware!
