ECS R400-A P4 Motherboard

Get one while you can , as these boards are considered discontinued and no longer available.

If you check the specs you can see that you can run 2 types of ram (DDR & DDR2). You can also run Onboard VGA / PCI / AGP or PCIe video cards as well. The chipsets are ATI (north & southbridges).

My choices were : ECS R400-A (v 1 ) motherboard
Intel P4 (630) 3.0ghz / 2mb cache / 800mhz fsb
(HH80547PG0802MM) - SL8Q7 (RO) Made in China
(H631A044)
Motherboard box says with "INTEL 6xx series processor
support"
E9300 series Intel Core Duo (Copper Core) fan (not stock)

My new system is running at 33 C. CPU temp. while the system is running at 39 C with the E9300 heatsink & fan. It virtually does not heat up at all. Even the heatsink does not heat up.

Make sure you connect this board to a good PSU ( 600watts ) , as the 4-pin connector must be connected to the board to power the CPU unit. If you don't , no video will be produced.

Also make sure that you install WinXP on a Hard Drive that has "NO" existing Operating System , as the board will not go to pre-existing XP desktops that belong to other mobo's.

With a large fan PSU unit directly above the CPU fan , no heat is even coming out of the rear of the case. Meanwhile the CPU is running at a full
3.0ghz for hours on end. (not less).

Right now there are about 11 for sale on ebay for $31.00. Very easily done considering that you can almost achieve 4.0ghz with this board.
