Summary: Bought a video recorder that arrived over 3 weeks later in used condition with scratches and would not record video. I immediately contacted the company via their online form and sent pictures of the defects. They sent an email 2 weeks later telling me to go to the manufacture website to get technical help. I wrote back yet again explaining that the unit was used and defective. Another week later they sent me an email asking me to send the unit back at my cost and that they would refund me (including my cost of shipping). I have confirmation that they received the package a month ago and I am still awaiting a refund. I followed up via email two weeks after they received it and they responded 2 weeks later stating that I should have told them I was sending the unit back and to send them pictures of the postage receipt. Yet they gave me instructions to send it back and the postage is right on the package! Being that they took so long to ship the item to me and with the consistent 2 week response time, it is pretty clear they're just giving me the run around. They don't allow direct email for customer service. You always need respond to the thread under your order # and you cannot send a follow-up unless they respond to you (which takes forever)! I could not even get a response from their Sales email and they do not have a telephone number. They currently have an F rating with the Better Business Bureau. I am posting this everywhere just to inform other people so they don't make the same mistake I did. |

Summary: I've ordered 9 items from Deal Extreme and have been very pleased with each one.
This site sells INEXPENSIVE items with FREE shipping and that is what you get. They allow the posting of feedback, pro and con, on each item on their web site which is very helpful.
I received one item which was defective. Filled out Deal Extreme's "ticket" form for a defective item and they sent me a new one and paid the shipping. OUTSTANDING!
I will DEFINITELY buy from them again. GREAT gift items. Lots of fun and unique stuff.
Like any business that sells huge amounts of products you will find some buyers whining about a bad product. But people who buy Chinese made products then complain about them being "cheap" remind me of people who buy a house near the airport then complain about the noise. |

Summary: I have read other reviews of DX before my first order and they were almost all positive in every area. They do not add postage and handling (which is where I think some discounters make all their profit...) and customer reviews are invited and available on most products. Payment is secure by Pay Pal. If you compare the prices it is very difficult to beat them anywhere. Their communications were prompt. I ahve not had a problem but others say that they stand behind the merchandize and replace or refund. Understand that shipment is from Hong Kong and may take a little longer. |
