don't bother - too much work

Summary: Placed an order with them (saleswoman was nice & helpful) but then spent 90 minutes trying to get them to process my credit card. Alas, should have read these reviews first. Cancelled both my orders, because after 90 minutes they wanted me to send them bank statements. do companies work for customers, or the other way around?

Summary: I ordered a 24" iMac from the MM and received it without any hassle. The problem began when it had a video card problem out of the box. I checked the back of the receipt for a return number and in horror discovered Apple products were non-returnable items for any reason! If I had know THAT, I would have never ordered from them in the first place! After getting the run around from their "so called" customer service department, and my wife being insulted by another representative, I called Apple. Long story short I took my brand new iMac back to the Apple store to get it repaired! This is crazy! The only thing that made this bearable was the 5-star service I received from Apple. Thank goodness some companies still value their customers. Not MacMall! Run away from them!

Summary: They deliberately dated my order on two different days so I could not claim my printer for free from Epson. The mail in rebate stated that the printer and computer had to be ordered at the same time at the same day. The invoice I received from MacMall had the order spread over two dates. Nothing but theft, Epson would not accept my claim. I called Mac Mall and they sent me a new invoice but it was after the offer had closed and Epson decided I was a piece of trash too. Both firms are vile and I hope they go bust.

Mac Mall fails at customer service

Summary: It took three days for an order to process though there was nothing apparently wrong with their supply or my payment information. My experience with MacMall's customer "service" for past several years is that these guys are merely order takers.

My friend interviewed for the sales department three years ago. They run a very loose ship. If a sales candidate notices disorganization just from two interview visits, you can imagine how an order can get screwed up from sales to delivery. He decided not to take the job.

The only reason to buy from this place is if you're outside of California to save on sales tax. But even then there are plenty of better alternatives.

Summary: I have put my order in at 02/06/09
and todays' date is 02/19/09
The item was NOT back ordered when I put my order in.
It was suppose to ship next day, but no! they didnt notify me anything. after a few days i look it up. My status says Back ordered.
i called them up, they say they cant do anything about it, it happens. so I ask when they ll be available again? They say This Monday (02/08/09)
monday comes, i called them they say vizio cant make it in time so they expect that on friday (02/13/09) then friday comes i called them they say, on tuesday for the same reason (02/17/09). i then called them again on tuesday, they say wednesday, i called them wednesday, they say today... i called them today. they say tomorrow.

so basically, i will get it by the end of this year if not later...

Summary: I ordered the macbook air from them a weekago, and added $25.00 to my order for overnight delivery. One week later...still no macbook. So I call and they say I need to call their credit card processing division (No transfer??). I talked to them (credit card processing) they verified me and said they would be shipping the next day, so two more days go bye, I check the status again...they say I need to talk to credit card processing again!!! I ask to cancel my order, the guy tells me its canceled. I check back the next day (it's not canceled)so I call again and the guy "says" he is canceling the order. WHO KNOWS???? Hopefully I will not be charged from something that I am never going to receive! These people SUCK. I will never buy from them!!! Neither should you!

Summary: I was concerned about the UPS rebate so I called the company for clarification. The representative was pleasant. I told him I was web searching for an IPOD touch and I asked about the mailing rebate. He asked my name, where I lived; everyday vague conversation. Then he said, “You don’t have to order on-line. You can order through me now.” I reminded him I was simply asking for information. Then he asked me, (if you can believe this) for my credit card number so he would be able to “get my order through faster.” I reminded him, again, that I was only inquiring as to the shipping and not ordering. The “I can do it for you right now” approach is a red flag in itself. I am an attorney, so I am skeptical by nature; but his approach was scary. He was very “hard court press” for me to give him my credit information. I just hung up and then researched the Mac Mall sight for reviews and found this site. I want to thank you all for your heads up postings. Your feedback saved me from making a huge mistake.

I wish I had the money to sue them

Summary: One big scam. I wish I had the money and time to sue them.

I ordered $1000 worth of electronics, using my Debit Card (it came directly from my hecking account). They called me and asked for additional information (my personal address, to which the debit card is NOT attached) for verification, which they should never need to verify. After I gave them my extra personal information for verification, they immediately charged my credit card. I paid for overnight shipping, and they said they would have it to me by the next morning.

I did not get it the next morning, or the following day, or the day after that. On the fourth day, I called them, and they said that the item was discontinued. This item is the latest, state-of-the-art GPS, so there's no way it's discontinued. Then they said they would take another week to refund the money into my checking account ($1000!).

Bottom line - they are scamming people, getting personal information that shouldn't be required - at this point, I wouldn't be surprised to see them steal my identity. And they are claiming to have items they don't have. And they are charging credit cards long before they even look at inventory.

Put the CEO in jail!

Summary: I ordered a Sony BD player at an excellent price but I've spent an ungodly amount of time trying to find out the status of the order and sent emails that have never been answered. The last time I spoke to a CSR they said the order had shipped. Today (5 days later) order status says "customer cancelled order". I called and actually got an answer from a human being but they would have to call me back in a "few minutes". Its been an hour now and no return call. At this point I'd just as soon cancel which I think is what they want me to do. The player shows as IN STOCK now as it did last week but its $50 more. Gonna have to call 'em again. PITA Stay away!

Summary: DO NOT LOOK FOR A REBATE FROM MACMALL OR THEIR AFFILIATES, IT HAS TO BE A SCAM, THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY, NO PROBLEM AND YOU WILL GET A GOOD DEAL AND THEY WILL DELIVER THE GOODS ON TIME, BUT THATS IT, DONT CALL CUSTOMER SERVICE UNLESS YOU HAVE AN HOUR OR TWO LISTENING TO THEIR AUTOMATED RECORDING TELLING YOU HOW IMPORTANT YOUR CALL IS TO THEM. JUST ORDER THE PRODUCT AND PLAN TO PAY FOR ANYTHING ELSE.

ELECTRONICS TAKE OR LEAVE IT STORES HAS MOVED FROM MID-TOWN MANHATTAN TO THE WEST COAST ! I SAY YES, I WILL SHOP FROM THEM AGAIN BECAUSE I KNOW WHAT I'M GETTING INTO. NOTHING AGAINST PEOPLE IN INDIA TRYING TO MAKE A LIVING, BUT THATS WHERE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS, THEY COULD CARE LESS.

Summary: This was an absolutely terrible online experience. I purchased an iPod; my credit card was approved online through Mac Mall's website, but the next day a person from Credit Card dept called me AT WORK to verify my employment, bank, address, etc. Asked me to wait on hold (again...I'm working) for SEVERAL MINUTES while they confirmed my card. I hesitantly gave them my bank's phone number to verify my address; this was also approved. Then, later in the day I was contacted a THIRD time by the Credit dept via an email saying my card had been declined and that I needed to call them for further verification. Well, I DID call and promptly cancelled the order. I would never shop with this company again. How many times does my credit need to be approved by one company for one transaction??

Summary: This place sucks. Their website advertises great prices with rebates. I sent the rebates back in September of 2007 3 days after I received the system. It is now April 2008 and They still owe me rebates. I have phoned, e-mailed numerous times. They keep saying they are working on it. I used the rebates they sent me but now they say a $75 rebate is not good. I cannot find anywhere in writting where it says that it is not good. The sales agent sent me the rebates the day I ordered the system. I will never buy anything again from this place. Go to the Apple store. Great system but MACMALL SUCKS!!!

Summary: I found this site 10 minutes after my wife and I placed our order. Shame on me for not researching...MacMall had always been a good company but they have done a complete 180.


We ordered a Macbook Pro and a printer. The ordering process is not streamlined, as you can not apply for and use the MacMall card without calling an agent. There is no mention of this until after you input your Social Security Number... very sketch.


Once we ordered, we had to go through verification for the macmall card... fair enough. However, my wife and I were just married and they did not believe us! They called a phone number that we did NOT give them (my wife's old home phone... it must have been on the credit file). They left sensitive information on the answering machine not even knowing if they had reached the correct number (there is no personal info on the greeting message) or not. One more annoyance, they would only ship to the address on the credit file.. she lived in TX, she LIVES in Tennessee... annoying.



The Macbook arrived DOA and when we called to get another one we were told SURPRISE! They don't return macs.. but we could "happily" claim warranty on it. Off we went to the Apple store and our laptop went bye bye for a few days.. it's back now and it seems to work. Not a good 1st experience with an Apple for my wife.


Also, the printer did not work as advertised. It was supposed to be a wireless printer that worked with mac. What it was was a printer with a cheap-o print server that only worked with Windows. lame... and falsely advertised.


We called up to replace the printer with another one on their site. After the sales person belittled me demanding proof that the first printer did not work with a Mac we placed the order (on the SAME MacMall card..with plenty of room on the line of credit... shipping to SAME address for the new printer. Lo and behold, it was declined for some unknown reason. When we called they said they had to get the old one back first... WHAT?! We are, as I type this trying to cancel the entire printer order and are being transferred all around ...and oops... had to leave a message.


A few more things:
- shipping is free AFTER mail in rebate... who knows if we'll actually see ANY of our rebate money.
- tech support and sales staff are rude and at best, barely knowledgeable about their products

Please, avoid this company... spare yourself the rising blood pressure and urge to want to hit something. I am making it my personal mission to post this review to any and all sites I can find so that others may have a better buying experience ELSEWHERE!!!!

Summary: They are awful. I purchased a new macbook pro with software, the total close to 3000. I faced difficulties on Macmall's end (seems as though not one of the 7 customer service representatives I spoke to could get my credit card # right). It took 3 days for them to finally get it right and process the order. Each rep told me I was all set and would receive it the next day. No one called me to tell me the order had not gone through. The then promised free overnight shipping, but when I had not received it they then informed me that it took 48 hours to install the software. Many of the customer service reps flat out lied and treated me like I was burdening them. They are awful, honestly wish I has spent the extra couple of hundred dollars and gone through Apple.
