Summary: I agree with the first reviewer, that Proflowers can be pricey, mostly because of the shipping. I've used the service twice, so far. The first time, I got the bouquet of 25 Peruvian lillies for my girlfriend, with the free vase and a coupon for 20% off, I believe. With exorbitant shipping ($10), my total came to $30. That's $30 for flowers that I later realized I could find at my local grocery store for $5 dollars per 10 stems. The vase really isn't worth $9.99 either, which is of course why so many of their promotions involve giving the vase away as a free bonus.
Approximately two weeks after my order was received, I was asked to complete a survey. I mentioned in the survey that while I was happy with how long the flowers had lasted thusfar, I didn't think the bouquet was as colorful or as full as the one depicted on the Proflowers site. I indicated that I wasn't likely to buy that product again for the same price, and that I would be hesitant to recommend ProFlowers to anyone unless they had a really good coupon.
I very promptly got an email from ProFlowers customer service regarding my survey responses. In keeping with their satisfaction guarantee, I was offered a credit on the site for $30. I didn't choose the Peruvian lillies this second time, opting for 20 Blue Irises. They sent the replacement bouquet to my girlfriend on a date of my choosing. Truth be told, I was even less happy with the Irises, since it turns out they have very little shelf-life as cut flowers, but I appreciated the gesture from ProFlowers in trying to make things right.
I have used the site again, since. (I wanted to send my girl flowers, and 25 Peruvian Lillies for $20 shipped was something I could fit in my budget.) I still would only recommend them if they're doing a good promotion, though. Keep your eye out for promo codes! |
Summary: ProFlowers has good quality for a decent price. I have had two problems I know of in my many orders. Sent roses: missing stems.
They refunded my money for the missing flowers. (TACKY . . . call the recipent to see what they got! ya gotta do it) Always get the free vase, by typing a name in the radio listener link: Laura, Mike, John, etc. This is the $9.99 vase you can buy at WalMart for $1.49. Shipping is $10. The flowers with free shipping are $10 more than similar bouquets. Plan on spending a minimum of $40-$50.
Never used the Florist option for same day deliver, but could see how the florist might not have the exact flowers advertised by ProFlowers. |
